UK govt unrolls radical package to promote growth

At a time when the economy has slowdown, the UK government is battling recession. The main priority of the David Cameroon's Conservative government is to generate more jobs. Keeping all this in mind, the government has unleashed some schemes that would promote growth.

In a speech, Minister for the Cabinet Office Francis Maude outlined a radical package. It is expected that things would brighten up for small businesses and others.

In the coming months some £60 billion will be spend on procurement. Overall the government spend around £230 billion on the whole public sector.

The news of radical package has come at a time when economic conditions is not so good. UK needs investment.

It would be interesting to see how the government manages the show.

In a press release, Mundes said: "It sounds very obvious that the public sector should give businesses and suppliers signals about what contract opportunities are coming up so that they can gear up and make investment decisions well in advance."

He further added: "So I'm delighted to announce today that we build on our commitment earlier this year to publish forward looking pipelines for public sector construction projects and the UK's wider infrastructure investment programme."
