Jasmine byproduct of US operation in Iraq

It is hard times for despots in the Middle East. One by one they are falling down. It all started with the overthrow of Saddam Hussein at the hands of the occupying American forces. Then the Bush administration had promised to remap the whole region by introducing democracy. However, the plans were later shelved off as the American forces were dogged down in fighting in Iraq.

But US succeeded in establishing partiall controlled democratic set up. Saddam too was hanged. We like it or not the US should be credited for indirectly bringing in democracy in the few Gulf states.

The peaceful Jasmeen revolution that started in Tunisia first spread to other countries like wildfire. In Egypt tyrant Mubarak was overthrown. Now the poeple are mounting pressure on the army to give up its hold over the country. In Libya more than 40 years of Ghaddafi's rule came to an end.

At the time of filing this report Syria was on fire with peaceful protesters demanding end of Assad's misrule. Till now the despot has managed to stick to power by killing innocent civilians.

Despite Arab countries interefernce things have not calmed down as government army is hunting down dissents and killing them. The situation will only get worsened in the coming days as brave protesters are not ready to tolerate Assad.

But Assad is not willing to give up. If he continues his atrocities sooner or later he would meet the same fate of Ghaddafi, Saddam or Mubarak.
